Well, so much has happened in the 2+ years since I stopped posting on this blog. I became a mother and my almost 2 year old daughter keeps me busy. I am no longer a Stampin' Up Demonstrator, although I still love the products, doing parties is just not for me. My sister and I have joined forces to create My Little Fairy Garden where we have found some of the most adorable fairies and miniature garden accessories from overseas and brought them to Australia (but more about that later).
I have decided to start this blog again to document my time with my daughter and some of the fun activities we do together, kind of like my version of a diary. I also would like to promote My Little Fairy Garden by showing how much fun my daughter has out in the garden.
For anyone who reads this blog I will apologise in advance for my terrible spelling and grammar. I do try my best but English was never my strong subject. I much prefer crafts, science and getting my hands dirty to reading a book.

Its a girl
Here is a card I made for a mother at my child care. I got the idea from sarah klass and couldn't resist using it for a card of my own.

Ugly Papers???
My newest idea in the craft room is to challenge myself and look outside of the box. This time with some cheap old paper I had previously written off because I was unsure what to do with it and didn't particularly like it anyway. After seeing some wonderful creations on others blogs made from patterned paper I had never though much of, I realised that I need to look at some of my supplies in a new light. So this is what I came up with and I love it. Very simple, but I am satisfied that I have not let this paper go to waist and have created something I would be proud to send to a best fried for her birthday.
Cards for Mothers
This card below is for my mums birthday next week. I generally try to be safe and simple when I make cards but this time I wanted to make something a little more special for her. I used the card on page 21 of the IBC for inspiration. I have never crated anything like this before but I really enjoyed the processes that got me from the initial idea to the finished product.
As I enjoyed the above project so much I decided to use similar techniques to create a Mothers day card for my mother in law. In an effort to challenge myself further I started with a colour (Cameo Coral) that was not one of my favorites but still one I knew my mother in law would like. I surprised myself as I stamped because it didn't take me long to be won over by this card and its colour.

Just Add Ink colour challenge
I have never attempted a challenge before. After weeks of telling myself that I should participate in one, even if i don't submit my work, I decided this weeks Just Add Ink challenge was one I could handle. Armed with my inks, paper and ribbon, I went through my box of stamps looking for one I thought would work with the colours. I finally decided on my Big Bold Birthday set and this is what I came up with.
The colours used are: So Saffron, Pink Passion, Tempting Turquoise, Green Galore

setting up my office/craft room...
Some more cards
I haven't posted anything for a while and after receiving a new box of Stampin' Up! goodies I have been playing around with all the colours and stamps and my fav, the circle punches! Unfortunately my playing around hasn't created many complete cards but rather a container of embellishments. Although I have had 3 birthday cards to make, all of which I left to the last minute but I am still happy with how they turned out.
This is a card I made for my nephews birthday. It is similar to the one from my previous post but the two cousins are both 2 (& born 1 week apart) so I thought something similar would be appropriate.
This card was for my sister in law. It was my first attempt at making a paper flower and also showed me that having a box of pre-made embellishments can come in handy when you leave making the card until 15 minutes before walking out the door...
This one took me a little longer and it was for my good friends birthday. It is hard to tell on the photo but the birdcage has been cut out and is suspended by some cotton strings.
This last card is one I made just for fun. I will probably add a message to the bottom once I decide who this is for.

Birthday Card
I made this card for my nephew's 2nd birthday. He had his party today. In the background you can see his colourful train cake that my sister baked and decorated. She did a great job and the kids loved it!
Stamps: Pun Fun
Inks: Basic Black
Card: Brilliant Blue, Green Galore
Other: stampin' pastels, blender pen
I was feeling very creative today after the party (must have been all that colourful sugar, thanks Em) and practiced some water colouring and blender pen techniques. I have also been inspired to create some of my own embellishments. I made a bunch of paper roses, which I cant wait to add to a project, and I am excited to have a couple of ideas to make my own buttons - just need to order some more great products form Stampin' Up! before I can make them... and the wish list just keeps on getting longer and longer.
